Terms of Use

How The Bible Works (HTBW) is a ministry to help others understand the Bible as divine literature. We create resources available for free on our website (www.howthebibleworks.org) and on YouTube (www.youtube.com/@HowTheBibleWorks). This is possible because of the generosity of our supporters. How The Bible Works is owned and run by Tallulah Holley and Chris Holley. We are not affiliated to any specific church or denomination.

These Terms of Use set out how you can use our resources including, but not limited to, our videos, online guides and downloadable PDFs. In short, you may use our resources for free by attributing HTBW as the creator and owner of the resource. You may not financially profit, either directly or indirectly, from the use of our resources. If you violate these Terms, you will no longer be permitted to use our resources.

Acceptance of Terms

By using our website and accessing our resources, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Notice which is incorporated into these Terms. If you do not agree and accept these Terms, you may not use our resources. Your use of our resources is taken as acceptance of these Terms as a binding, legal contract. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision in these Terms does not constitute a waiver of such a right or provision.

We hold and reserve all copyright and intellectual property (IP) rights on our website and resources. Where possible on our website, you may download, copy and/or share our resources for personal and non-commercial use, provided you attribute HTBW as the owner of such resources. Your use of our resources does not constitute any transfer of IP.

Changes to our Website and Resources

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or terminate any aspect of our website and resources at any time and without prior notice. Therefore, the resources may become inaccessible to you for a period of time or permanently.

Videos

Our videos are available to view on our website (www.howthebibleworks.org) and on our YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@HowTheBibleWorks). You are allowed to embed links to our videos on your own website unless we inform you otherwise. That is so long as you follow these Terms, in particular:

You may not require financial payment, either directly or indirectly, in order for someone to access the videos.
You may not sell, reproduce, edit, modify, or distribute copies of the videos.
You must attribute the creator and owner of the video as How The Bible Works and place this clearly and close to the video embed or link.
You may not upload the videos to your own channel, website or streaming service. They must be links to our YouTube channel or website.

Guides and PDF Downloads

Our guides and PDF downloads are available to view and download on our website (www.howthebibleworks.org). You are allowed to embed links to our guides on your own website unless we inform you otherwise. You are allowed to download and print our PDFs for personal use. That is so long as you follow these Terms, in particular:

You may not require financial payment, either directly or indirectly, in order for someone to access the guides or PDFs.
You may not sell, reproduce, edit, modify, or distribute copies of the guides or PDFs.
You must attribute the creator and owner of the guide or PDF as How The Bible Works and place this clearly and close to the link or as part of the print out.
You may not upload the guides or PDFs to your own channel or website. They must be links to our website.

If we withdraw this permission, you must remove all digital displays or links to our guides, and cease distribution of any printed PDFs.

Access to External Sites

Our website includes links to other websites and external resources provided by third parties. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or opinions expressed on those sites. We do not regularly monitor any changes to those sites. By including external links, we do not offer our endorsement or approval of their content. You access these links at your own risk. We do not accept responsibility for any damage caused by accessing these sites. We do not accept responsibility for any advertisements that appear on these third party sites.

Donations

We reserve the right to cancel any direct debit agreements or refuse any payments without prior notice and without giving a rationale. If you wish to cancel your direct debit you can do so with your bank, without the need to inform us. If you have any issues with cancelling your direct debit or you wish to cancel a payment, please contact howthebibleworks@gmail.com. It is not always possible for us to cancel a payment once it has been submitted on our website or via a direct debit so we reserve the right to process payments once they have been submitted.
