Who we are

How The Bible Works (HTBW) is run by Christopher Holley and Tallulah Holley (we/us) who will be collecting, storing, processing, maintaining, cleansing, and retaining personal data including data defined as sensitive. We will be the data controllers for your personal data.    

 

How we will use your data

We use your personal data to facilitate your donation to How The Bible Works. Any data that is collated about you is needed to deliver our services effectively.

 

The nature of your personal data we will be using

If you make a donation, we will collate the following personal data:  

• Full name 

• Email address 

• Phone number  

• Postal address 

• Card details (note that we are only able to see the last four digits)

If your data is being collated, you will be informed in advance so that you can give your consent.   

 

Why do we collect this information and why our use of your personal data is lawful

We collate your data in order to provide a service which you have requested. In order for our use of your personal data to be lawful, we need to meet one (or more) conditions in the GDPR and DPA 2018 data protection legislation (UK). For the purpose of this project, we will process your personal information in accordance with: 

• 6 1 (a) “the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes”. This refers to the consent that you have given for your data to be provided, such as in booking forms.

 

Sharing your personal data

Your data will not be shared with any third parties. Our website is hosted by Wix.com who process any payments on our behalf. See www.wix.com for more info. 

 

How long we will keep your personal data

We will keep your personal data for no longer than is necessary. The data we hold will be reviewed every year. We will delete your data five years after you have stopped engaging with our services. This is in order to comply with UK tax law.

Data protection legislation requires us to keep your information secure. This means that your confidentiality will be respected, and all appropriate measures will be taken to prevent unauthorised access and disclosure.  All personal data is kept electronically and protected by password.

In the first instance, you should contact us (howthebibleworks@gmail.com) with your request: 

• to have your personal data rectified, if it is inaccurate or incomplete 

• to restrict how we process your personal data  

• to withdraw consent for direct marketing purposes 

 

Withdrawal of Consent and the Right to Lodge a Complaint

Where we are processing your personal data with your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent. You can do this by contacting us (howthebibleworks@gmail.com).

You also have the right to raise any concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) via their website at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/.
